Acute Launches I3C CTS Testing Solution: MIPI I3C Conformance Testing for Target and Controller on One Platform

October 14, 2026, Taiwan

Acute Technology Inc. today announced the availability of the I3C CTS Application for its Protocol Exerciser. The solution runs pre-conformance testing that follows the MIPI I3C CTS v1.0 test catalog, covering I3C v1.2 and I3C Basic v1.2, so development teams can find non-conformant behavior in their own lab before submitting devices for formal certification.

As I3C spreads across servers, memory modules and sensors, developers need to verify conformance earlier and more thoroughly. The usual approach tests protocol and electrical behavior separately: a protocol analyzer checks the packets, then a separate oscilloscope setup measures timing and voltage. The I3C CTS Application brings both into a single test run.

Key features

  • Tests both Target and Controller: Covers all 25 test items in Section 2 (Target DUT) and 30 of the 31 items in Section 1 (Controller DUT), including CCC, IBI, error detection and recovery, and HDR Exit / Restart Pattern.
  • Protocol and electrical checks in one run: With an Acute DSO (MSO3124V or TS3124V) attached, 8 Section 1 test items also measure parameters such as tCAS, tCR / tCF and VOL / VOH, and judge each value against the MIPI I3C v1.2 limits.
  • Verdicts you can trust: An invalid measurement is never reported as a DUT failure, and a test item without a verdict is recorded as N/A rather than counted as a Pass. Every result links to its waveform in one click.
  • Built for real Controller devices: Operate the Controller manually by following on-screen prompts, or have the CTS call your own control program at each step for unattended testing.
  • Automation and reporting: An HTTP API and command-line tool plug straight into CI. HTML reports include waveforms, and a result analysis report in Chinese or English can be generated in one click.

Availability

The I3C CTS Application is available now and runs on the Acute Protocol Exerciser PX2816B. Analog measurements require an Acute DSO MSO3124V or TS3124V.

This solution provides pre-conformance testing for development and debugging. Results do not constitute official MIPI Alliance conformance certification.
