USB Power Delivery (USB PD) is a protocol based on Biphase Mark Coding (BMC) used in devices like laptops, tablets, mobile phones, power banks, and other USB Type-C enabled devices for power supply and charging. With USB Type-C, the maximum power delivery can reach up to 240W, allowing users to charge supported devices via a USB Type-C connector.
The USB PD 3.1 specification builds on the original USB PD 3.0 by defining two power ranges: the Standard Power Range (SPR), which maintains a maximum of 100W, and the Extended Power Range (EPR), which increases the available power.
