MCTP (Management Component Transport Protocol) is a
transport-independent protocol defined by the DMTF (Distributed Management Task Force).
It can operate over multiple physical layers such as PCIe,
I²C、
MIPI I3C、
SMBus、
UART
, and Ethernet,
enabling management and monitoring of servers and embedded systems.
Based on MCTP, PLDM (Platform Level Data Model) further supports platform management applications such as sensor access, firmware updates, and device status monitoring.
Acute Technology logic analyzers support decoding and display of MCTP Control and PLDM packets,
helping engineers clearly observe and analyze platform management protocol communications over the bus,
and quickly locate and resolve issues during the design or verification process.
