MCTP (Management Component Transport Protocol) is a
transport-independent protocol defined by the DMTF (Distributed Management Task Force).
It can operate over multiple physical layers such as PCIe,
I²C、
MIPI I3C、
SMBus、
UART
, and Ethernet,
enabling management and monitoring of servers and embedded systems.
NCSI (Network Controller Sideband Interface) can operate over MCTP or RMII
for monitoring and managing network controllers, supporting network status detection and event notification.
Acute Technology logic analyzers support decoding and display of MCTP and NCSI packets,
helping engineers clearly observe and analyze platform management protocol communications over the bus,
and quickly locate and resolve issues during the design or verification process.
